Celebrate the beauty and grace of winter and the shortest day of the year with the One Water Partnership at Pemberton Park on Sunday, Dec. 19th at 1pm!
We are honored to have this walk led by Cheryl Sidwell. Cheryl is a certified yoga therapist who currently teaches therapeutic Yoga and Meditation/Mindfulness online for the Veteran’s Administration in DC. She is strongly influenced by Vipassana, B.K.S Iyengar and Gitananda traditions of Meditation and Ashtanga Yoga.
Born in Baltimore, MD, she spent many years in her twenties and thirties connecting with her indigenous roots and studying wild plant medicine and energy healing with Sam “Caocoochee” Thomas, a Seminole Medicine Man, as well as with many herbal medicine healers and Lakota spiritual teachers including Wallace Black Elk and Chief Arvol Looking Horse, the 19th keeper of the White Buffalo Calf Pipe and Bundle.
Following the walk, participants are invited to join the One Water Partnership in making evergreen decorations using fresh-cut greenery. All materials needed will be provided!
