More than 200 green teams trained and working to improve their communities!
IPC provides learning opportunities through our Faithful Green Leaders Training program to help partner congregations acquire the knowledge, skills, tools, and support they need to lead their communities in raising awareness and restoring the waters of the Chesapeake region. You can register to attend our Faithful Green Leaders Training program by clicking on the upcoming events listed at the bottom of this page. You can also download the training flyer here.
You can also sign up for our monthly Learning Lab webinars and listen to recordings of past webinars.
The trainings are also opportunities to meet with like-minded individuals from congregations in your area and connect with environmentally driven individuals from diverse faith traditions. You can view a list and map of all the participating green teams HERE.
Attendees receive an online handbook to use with your team. Quarterly check-ins scheduled with your team leader for the first year provide ongoing troubleshooting support.
Here's what you'll learn during the sessions of this training. (Click on the Map of the Learning Journey to view in a larger size.)
Following the training, each team is offered a mentor to assist the team members in achieving their goals. To learn more about the mentorship program, visit our Volunteer Mentor page here.
We strongly encourage you to form a team of three (including yourself) before registering, and get all three team members to attend together. If you don’t have a team, you are welcome to attend, but just know that during breakout sessions when congregations break into their teams for small group work, you will join others who are there without a team. We've collected a few resources here to help you start building your team-of-3.
Not sure if your existing green team needs this training? Check out our short evaluation tool to see if this training is right for you and your congregation.
