Talya is joining us through Volunteer Maryland as an AmeriCorps Member from October 2020 to August 2021. She recently graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Architecture. While studying architecture she became particularly interested in sustainability as it relates to the built environment, and focused her coursework on sustainable building and city design. During her time in school Talya received her Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Associate from the U.S. Green Building Council and later held an internship with them where she conducted policy research. After graduating college Talya knew she wanted to dedicate a year to community service and environmental stewardship which led her to IPC. In her free time she loves going to concerts, vegetarian and vegan cooking, and exploring the outdoors.
