Composting is an art!
Join your One Water Partnership - Lower Shore team for a special workshop digging into the science of composting, featuring guest lecturer Jay Martin from Provident Farm in Bivalve, MD. Come and learn what can be composted, the science of invertebrates and their role in your "bin", and what it takes to start your own composting operation at home (or at your congregation!).
Lessons will include an in-person demonstration of the construction of a 3-bin composting system and demonstration on it's successful use. Additionally, Mr. Martin will help us explore other ways folks can get involved with composting even in an apartment!

About our host!
Our generous host, Francis De Sales Catholic Church, is an IPC pledge signing congregation! The Francis De Sales Green Team is relatively new to the IPC scene, but couldn't be happier to be helping bring this educational opportunity to those across the Lower Eastern Shore.
Having now signed the pledge and formed a "Green Team", the congregation hopes with time to continue working with Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake's - One Water Partnership program to transform the parish campus to one with a greater environmentally friendly focus. Located just across the street from the Wicomico River, the Francis De Sales green team recognizes that any step they take to bolster water conservation on the property will in turn benefit the health of the Wicomico River, it's people and wildlife.
