Tree Give-Away

Native tree seedlings are available for free in the Cabin John watershed (North Bethesda region of Montgomery County). A local church, Geneva Presbyterian, has harvested several seedlings from trees growing on their property. Choose from red maple, black cherry (not edible), red oak, sycamore, tulip poplar, eastern red cedar, sweet gum, red mulberry (edible) and red bud. Native tree expert Rosie Perthel will be on hand to help you select seedlings suitable for your yard. No limit on what you take! Please bring your own shovel or garden fork and plastic bags or other containers. Rosie will be out there to meet you on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 26 and 27, 2 to 5 PM each day. No need to contact her in advance -- just stop by!
