Giving Thanks for Shared Food Harvest, Nature’s Commonwealth and Beloved Community!

Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for life, God’s creation, and the abundance of the Earth. Across faiths and traditions, this season reminds us of our shared responsibility to care for the natural world and our communities. The Thanksgiving holiday is now a universal spiritual and secular observance that focuses on gratitude for shared food harvests, nature-based Commonwealth and universal Beloved Community.

Please join the Baha'i' Faith Community of Bethesda and Montgomery County Maryland for their 2025 Virtual Thanksgiving Devotional–Spiritual Unity Feast program, a meaningful program celebrating gratitude, the harvest, nature's commonwealth and the call for stewardship of creation. Together, we’ll honor the wisdom of American, Indigenous, English/European, and faith-based traditions that inspire us to protect and cherish the Earth while nurturing our shared community.

Guest Speakers:

  • Rabbi Nina Beth Cardin Reisner – Community Rabbi, Chair of Waterkeepers Chesapeake, and author of To Forever Inhabit this Earth: an ethic of enoughness, exploring the Jewish imperative of sustaining a habitable world.

  • Gary Gillespie – Quaker faith leader, longtime peace and environmental advocate, and Green Team mentor for Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake.

  • Kate Fritz – CEO of the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, with 20+ years of experience in watershed protection and connecting land, water, and people.

🌿 Be part of this interfaith gathering to reflect, give thanks, and learn how faith can guide our care for the environment. See full program details by clicking here!
