Great news! IPC has launched a Green Team Mentorship Program to help assist newly trained congregational green teams implement Creation Care actions. This program pairs emerging green teams with an experienced green team leader to be their mentor. One great benefit of this new program is that it connects people from various congregations, hence strengthening the movement to heal and restore the Chesapeake Bay.
The volunteer mentors will act as an additional source of help for green teams after they have attended the Faithful Green Leaders Training (FGLT). The idea is that a green team will have a mentor available to them for the first year after they complete FGLT. Most of the mentors have gone through FGLT, and so are very familiar with the challenges faced by developing green teams. Mentors will be able to use their vast knowledge and experience to assist teams by directing them to useful resources, sharing best practices, and assisting them in planning their actions!
Many thanks to our inaugural class of volunteer mentors, whose passion and generosity have been invaluable to the program!
