Guest Speakers:
Barbara Tuset serves as Co-Director of the Audubon at Home Program, where she works with residents, businesses, and institutions to restore wildlife habitat in Northern Virginia. A former high school biology teacher and retired software professional, Barbara found new inspiration for conservation through Douglas Tallamy's Bringing Nature Home. She is a certified Fairfax Master Naturalist and is passionate about raising awareness of invasive plant species and their impact on biodiversity.
Diane Rey is an AACo. Watershed Steward, Class 13, and coordinator of the Green Team at Christ Our Anchor Presbyterian Church in Annapolis. Her love for the outdoors began in childhood, growing up on a large dairy farm in Frederick County. Whenever she can, she's out on the water in Chesapeake Bay country, under a big hat, kayaking, fishing, or reading afloat.
Farideh Abbasi is a Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse and has been living with her family in Northern Virginia for more than twenty years. Her hobbies are traveling, hiking, visiting national parks and learning about natural life, reading books, watching documentaries about how Universe works and regular yoga practice. Her special interest in environmental stewardship has led her to be active in Invasive Management Area Program in Fairfax County. She is a certified tree rescuer working with Plant Nova Natives Campaign and collaborating with volunteers to reverse the decline of native plants and wildlife in Northern Virginia.
