For all of us who live here in the Chesapeake Watershed, we know there is no shortage of complexities to the challenges our ecosystems and communities face. Together, with a variety of our environmental partners, come and join your Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake's - One Water Partnership team, for FOUR exciting Chesapeake themed conversations about these challenges and how we can face them together.

Through film, discussion, and speakers, we will dive into four of the most prominent topics surrounding stewardship of the Chesapeake Bay:

  • Urban Infrastructure & Development
  • Promoting Pollinators
  • Engaging Youth on Climate Change, and
  • Celebrating our Most Successful Bay-Policy

All of these conversations will be FREE, hosted virtually, and open to the public. Together we will celebrate our triumphant successes, learn about these complex issues, and go forth with the knowledge to make a difference!

Our first Chesapeake Conversation on Jan.17th will virtually screen a short documentary called “Disruption: Baltimore’s Highway to Nowhere”, followed by a panel discussion.

This event  will focus on the construction of Baltimore's I-170; a failed U.S. interstate highway, now better known as the “Highway to Nowhere”, which caused severe damage to many of Baltimore's most vibrant Black communities. When the project was abandoned before completion, it left a wake of near-irreparable damage onto the once thriving American communities the project bisected.

After the film, stick around to join us for a panel discussion on the documentary and meet…

This is a virtual event. Once you are registered we will add you to our list to receive the Zoom link on Friday, January 14th before the event. We hope to see you there!
