If you have a rain garden at your home or place-of-worship or workplace, you likely know that managing these–and other–stormwater best management practices (BMPs) can be challenging; without specialized skills and knowledge, it is difficult to conduct even basic maintenance. In this workshop, certified Chesapeake Bay Landscaping Professionals from the Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council and the Penn State Agriculture and Environment Center will tackle these challenges and provide training in the skills required to care for rain gardens and similar BMPs.

We will review the basic functions of stormwater BMPs, go over key maintenance tasks, introduce strategies for and resources to assist with plant identification, and present case studies in rain garden maintenance. Participants are encouraged to bring questions and concerns from their own experiences with stormwater BMPs for discussion and guidance.

Light refreshments will be provided. We hope you join us!
