On July 30th, Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake (IPC) tabled at the inaugural Salisbury Riverfest.
Spanning Salisbury's new "Riverwalk", the festival was a flourishing collection of local vendors, artisans, and organizations that brought out an impressive showing of community members.
Tabling with the Wicomico Environmental Trust, IPC connected with attendees to educate them about watersheds, IPC's faith based environmental efforts, and the impacts of stormwater runoff. In total, Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake spoke to over fifty attendees throughout the morning and early afternoon. Smiles were flowing like a well-kept river all day as children played Creation Bingo from IPC's table, searching for beautiful sights and sounds of nature in their own town. We were able to connect with multiple congregation members interested in IPC's work!
We were on the news!
47ABC-WMDT reporter Javari Burnett was present at the event, and stopped by the IPC table. Burnett interviewed IPC's Outreach Outreach Manager Bonnie Sorak, featuring Sorak's quotes about IPC work in Riverfest coverage. The interview appeared in 47ABC-WMDT's video coverage of Salisbury Riverfest, as well as in print on their website.
