Shernita Phillips is IPC's Americorps Member and is in charge of coordinating the Mentoring Program for the Faithful Green Leaders Teams. She grew up in a small town in Maryland and enjoys spending time with others, taking nature walks, and exploring helpful ways to keep our environment clean. Shernita studied visual art, business, and technology at Howard Community College and is excited about applying her skills at IPC.

Shernita believes that, "Regardless of how big or small helpful actions are, they all make a big difference."

Rebecca Arenson-Rachlinski is IPC’s Administrative Assistant. She is passionate about supporting healthy watersheds and native pollinators. Her love of teaching and natural history led to environmental education and teaching positions in Michigan, Virginia, and Oregon. After graduate studies in marine science and wetlands, Rebecca held policy, science, and program coordination positions at the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in mapping, natural resource damage assessment, and coral reef education. Her interest in nonprofits led her to a grant writing position with an adult literacy group, and now to working for IPC. She has a BA in Geology from Carleton College and a MS in Marine Science from the College of William & Mary.

“I am delighted to be supporting IPC and working at the local level to protect the Chesapeake watershed.”
