Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake and Maryland Catholics for Our Common Home invite you to an inspiring Lobby Night at the Maryland General Assembly! This is your opportunity to join fellow advocates in raising your voice for environmental justice and policies that protect our shared home.
This is a unique chance to connect faith with action, ensuring our voices are heard on critical issues facing Maryland. Whether you're a seasoned advocate or new to lobbying, this event is designed to empower you to make a difference.
What to Expect:

Engage with Legislators: Meet directly with state representatives to share your passion for caring for creation and protecting Maryland's environment.

Get Equipped with Resources: Receive talking points, fact sheets, and tools to confidently advocate for priority environmental legislation.

Teach-In Session: Get tips and go over talking point during the pre lobby night teach-in session to prepare you for meaningful discussions with legislators.

We’ll discuss our main legislative priorities for this year that seek:
- To reduce litter and increase recycling of beverage containers (Maryland Bottle Bill)
- To strengthen the environmental justice protections considered during permit process for new and existing polluters (CHERISH Act)
- To move our buildings off of fossil fuels and onto cleaner power (Better Buildings Act & more)
