First Lutheran Church was recently awarded $9,800 to refurbish our large rain gardens!

The grant was made possible through our status as part of the Community Stormwater Partnership with the Howard County Office of Sustainability. We also have a partnership with the Howard County Gardeners Facebook group who will be donating bags of potting soil through their access to a Thrivent Grant. The grant also includes a partnership with Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake to publish a brochure for homeowners from the lessons we have learned about how to maintain gardens that “survive” deer attacks while simultaneously supporting the larger ecosystem.
