April is Earth Month—a time to celebrate our planet, reflect on our environmental impact, and recommit to building a more sustainable future. While Earth Day often takes center stage, the entire month offers an opportunity to turn awareness into action and intention into lasting change.

At its core, Earth Month is about connection: to the natural world, to one another, and to the choices we make every day. Our daily decisions ripple outward in ways that shape ecosystems, communities, and future generations. Congregations can play a big role in shaping how people view sustainability and conservation, specifically how their everyday actions play a role.

This year, we invite you to think beyond single-day gestures and embrace habits that endure. Simple actions—reducing food waste, conserving water, choosing reusable products, supporting local agriculture, or advocating for greener policies—can collectively drive meaningful change. Implementing these practices at your congregation is a great way to introduce members of the community to green initiatives. The hope is that people will take these practices home with them and implement them in their everyday lives. When multiplied across communities, these small shifts become powerful forces for environmental resilience. A great way to get started is by signing our Partner Congregation Pledge, a definitive stance on environmental issues for your congregation. Check out the map to see other congregations that have made the pledge!

But Earth Month is also about hope. Around the world, people are restoring habitats, protecting wildlife, advancing clean energy, and reimagining what sustainable living looks like. Progress is happening, and it’s fueled by individuals like you who care deeply about the planet we share.

As we celebrate Earth Month, we encourage you to:

  • Learn something new about the environment or climate solutions
  • Act in ways that reduce your environmental footprint
  • Share your efforts to inspire others
  • Engage with your community and support environmental initiatives

Together, we can move from awareness to action—not just in April, but every day of the year.
