The Nepali American Cultural Center (NACC) is celebrating this year's Earth Day with the groundbreaking of their new vegetable gardens and unveiling of the proposed Climate Smart Fruit and Native Trees project. Students, parents, neighbors, and the curious - all are encouraged to attend to visit our Buddhist and Hindu Temples and hear experts speak about our new gardens and other green infrastructure we are planning for the future.
All are welcome to come on Sunday, April 23rd, 12:00 - 1:00 pm Sunday.
They have invited Gunpowder Conservancy, IPC, Baltimore County, and state legislators to learn about their Climate Smart Fruit and Native Trees project that is moving forward. They are working with the University of Maryland Agricultural Department Extension focusing on Carbon Sequestering Fruits and Native trees garden in 10 acres. As discussed with stakeholders, this Fruit Trees and Native Tree plantation would be a model project in this area.
McKay Jenkins, Professor from University of Delaware and past IPC Board Member will be there to help explain the garden effort and celebrate.
