Chizuk Amuno Synagogue is located in the Jones Falls watershed in Baltimore and was one of the first congregations to partner with IPC way back in 2013. At that time, their parking lot had so much flooding that one pre-construction photo showed ducks floating on the water. A major design and construction effort led by Blue Water Baltimore eventually came to completion in 2017 that secured grant funding from multiple sources for a ~17,000-square foot bioretention practice to treat over 100,000 square feet of impervious surfaces. Chizuk Amuno has also hosted several onsite tours such as the one to the left to help people see what such practices look like in real life. They have also hosted energy workshops to help individuals go solar at home. To learn more about this congregation, click here.
