These are the headlines we want to see in our lifetimes. These are the headlines the people of the Chesapeake need to read. These are the headlines that Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake (IPC) is working toward.

The headlines that we have already generated over the past year show our collective progress:

IPC's impact extends far and wide, from Akron Mennonite Church in Lancaster PA down to our work with Laudato Trees through our Trees for Sacred Places program in the District of Columbia – we are expanding our reach. We want to see more awe-inspiring nature preserves, more trees planted, more grant funding secured for congregational projects.

In the past year alone we made great strides that were not mentioned in the media that are worth celebrating:

  • Over 200 congregations engaged through Creation Care efforts
  • ~55 acres of stormwater management projects were installed on faith-owned land
  • 30+ activities held across our One Water Partnership hubs that inspired more congregations to get involved
  • 150 legislators, people of faith, and community members came together for our first Chesapeake Champions Interfaith Breakfast
  • 28 new green teams trained through our Faithful Green Leaders Training program
