Learn about our common watershed - the Chesapeake Bay - and how our actions can care for the health of the waters and our communities. Caring for your local waters is a way of caring for your neighbors. As poet-farmer Wendell Berry expressed in this watershed golden rule, "Do unto those downstream as you would have those upstream do unto you."
One of our presenters will be Darcy Herman, Associate Program Manager for the Gunpowder Conservancy, who will discuss the primary water pollution sources that exist in our watershed and actions that our congregations can take to reduce this pollution. Our other presenter will be Shane Robinson, Executive Director of Trash Free Maryland, who will focus on trash pollution and how we can make a difference by engaging in advocacy efforts which implement policies for reducing trash and support clean healthy waters!
We'll also hear from green leaders of two congregations who have taken action to care for their local waters. Then we'll offer time for the Solution Circle, a time for you to share. Please bring your questions, ideas, challenges and successes!
These webinars are designed to supplement the in-person Faithful Green Leaders Training, but everyone is welcome to participate.
