Susannah Southern, Seminary Intern
Suz Southern, a Salisbury, MD native, is passionate about the work IPC does with local congregations. She is working on her Masters of Divinity from The School of Theology at Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee in order to pursue ordination as a priest in the Episcopal Church. Her work with IPC aligns perfectly with her studies preparing her for ministry.
What she believes the Church needs - and what the world needs - is more diversity and cross-cultural understanding. As a member of the IPC staff, she has learned about differing beliefs across religious and cultural barriers that she might not have explored before - all centered around protecting valuable waterways for years to come. Her undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies/Gender and Women’s Studies from UMBC informs her justice beliefs and her faith, which then informs her work with IPC. She hopes to continue her work with such an amazing organization and learn all she can from the experience!
