Aerial view of Saint Martin's Lutheran ChurchFor over 100 years, Saint Martin's Lutheran Church in Annapolis has welcomed people with a simple hope: to see people come to know Jesus Christ and grow in their Christian faith.  Their Garden Club's commitment to creation care is evident in the garden areas that beautify church grounds as well as the projects addressing stormwater runoff and loss of habitat for native species. Starting in 2010, over a two year period, Saint Martin's worked with the Spa Creek Conservancy to install 18 rain gardens and infiltration areas on the church grounds to capture polluted storm run-off. And in September 2020, they added a pollinator garden with an information sign explaining the importance of pollinators. The perennial plants provide three seasons of blooms from Spring to Fall, and provide habitat, shelter, and food for birds, bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
