The High 5 Initiative is joining the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay Project Clean Stream to try and reach the 2020 collective goal of 3 million pounds of trash! We chose the Susquehanna River because this is an area we frequent on kayaks and hiking. When we were there back in April we collected about a TON! The address is to the Conowingo Park and Octoraro Creek Trail where we will be meeting at. This is where we will sign in, get supplies and assign areas. We will be doing a cleanup of the riparian area between Rte. 222 and the Susquehanna River as well as the trails at the park. There will be gloves, bags, waters and snacks provided. We recommend closed toe shoes, pants, hats, and bug spray. Masks are to be worn at sign in and whenever social distancing with volunteers other than your co-isolators is not possible. Please do not attend if you have been sick, been around anyone else who has been sick, or traveled to any “hot spots” in the previous 2 weeks.
