Restoring Creation One Rain Garden at a Time!
Flexible Volunteer Hours-Help as You are Able
Howard EcoWorks, in conjunction with Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake's One Water Partnership Program, will work with the Oakland Mills Interfaith Center Green Team to restore and maintain the 4 rain gardens on the property. Volunteers of all Oakland Mills Interfaith Center congregations will be led by Eagle Scout Candidate Andy Barrera with assistance of Howard EcoWorks crew members.
Restoration of the rain gardens are Andy's Eagle Scout Project. Volunteers must wear long pants, work boots and work gloves as well. Simple lunch will be provided but please bring water in a reusable bottle. For safety precautions you will be sent away if you wear open toed shoes. Wearing a mask is optional outside - to use restrooms masks required-Restrooms close at 3 PM; prepare to give consent to have your temperature taken upon arrival. Hand tools will be provided by Howard EcoWorks so if you bring your own please make sure it is labeled with your name!
