Rebecca Hersher covers climate change including international climate talks and climate science
for National Public Radio. Rebecca can be heard regularly on NPR. She attended the
IPCC/Conference Of Participants 24 in Poland. Rebecca has been with NPR for about 10 years.
She previously worked at the journal Nature Medicine.
Sam Smith is the AFL-CIO’s strategic adviser to the President on clean energy jobs. Previously, she was
the director of the Just Transition Centre at the International Trade Union Confederation, a global
program for the labor movement on jobs, clean energy, and climate change. Sam has also served as the
global climate and energy leader for WWF, the world's largest conservation organization, and held
senior roles within the New Energy division of Equinor, leading teams on CO2 projects as well as
commercial management of large-scale renewable energy projects. Sam has degrees in history and law.
