Holes are PRE-DUG!!!

Join this lovely collaboration of Union Memorial AME Church, Church Lane Elementary School, Patapsco Heritage Greenway to plant trees at the school. We will meet at the church located at 8615 Church Ln, Randallstown, MD 21133 to begin the planting day with a prayer then head over to the school to plant. We will just be unpotting 65 trees, amending the soil, placing the trees, installing deer protection and watering at the Church Lane Elementary School located at 3820 Fernside Road, Randalstown, MD 21133.

Once you register here, you will receive a confirmation email with ANOTHER REGISTRATION LINK in order to reach the liability waiver that must be signed. Sorry for the two step process but because this planting is at a school we have to be extra precautious.

Thurs 5/23 - Planting Day - ~5 hours total

• 8:00-8:30am - PHG Event Assistants (3) arrive at school
  • Rachel will already be on-site with BCPS Facilities & Urban Zink to auger holes
• 8:00-8:30am - Schott Nursery delivers trees to school (65)
• 8:30-9:00am - Partners & Volunteers arrive at school
  • Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake, Union Bethel AME Church, Chesapeake CC Corps members
  • All volunteers must check-in at Main Office (you can send Rachel a list of names ahead of time to speed-up this process)
• 9:30am - Students (42 second graders, 2 classes) and staff (# TBD) come outside
• 9:30-9:35am - Welcome & Introduction
• 9:35-9:45am - PHG staff demonstrate How to Plant a Tree
• 9:45am-12:15pm - Students plant trees!
  • Adults will help manage students and parent volunteers
  • Organized process - start at planting area #1, then #2, #3, finish at #4 (plan attached for reference)
• 12:15-12:30pm - Wrap Up & Conclusion
  • Group photo (if not taken at beginning)
  • Questions, last remarks
• 12:30pm - End of planting, students return inside
• 12:30-1:30pm - PHG staff cleanup and depart

We will make a final weather call by 5:00pm Tuesday 5/21. Everyone please do a sunshine dance.
