The solstice marks the day of the year with the least light. But in the darker months, there's all sorts of activity in the natural world as plants, animals, the land and waters all prepare for warmer days. Join the One Water Partnership as we explore the trails of Winterplace Park, taking note of activity and life in the stillness. We'll learn about how different creatures and plants respond to changing amounts of light and cooler temperatures, and hear how multiple faith traditions honor this near-universally recognized time. We'll end the walk with a reflection on the Breath of Life, contemplating how natural systems are ever changing.
The One Water Partnership will provide hot apple cider to keep us warm and joyful! Please bring a reusable mug or travel mug and dress for the weather! The trails can get a little bit muddy, so please wear appropriate footwear. We will meet under the flag pole before setting off!
