Adopt a Stream workshop is a great venue for Interfaith PArtners for the Chesapeake congregations to continue learningCome learn how to care for a local waterway!

The Gunpowder Valley Conservancy is looking for volunteers to join their Adopt-a-Stream program and will be hosting an Adopt-a-Stream Workshop on Saturday, March 23rd, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church in Cockeysville. 

Participants will learn about the threats to the health of the Gunpowder Watershed and how to help protect and improve our local creeks and rivers.

Topics include:

  • Understanding stormwater’s effect on the health of waterways and landscapes

  • Properly identifying and reporting stream hazards (e.g. sewer breaks, illicit discharges) and impairments

  • Best practices for leading volunteers in a stream clean-up
