Sarah fell in love with the Chesapeake Bay on her first volunteer experience with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation while in junior high school. From a young age she gravitated towards science and continues to enjoy learning about the deep connections among individuals and nature. After receiving a degree in psychology she started work in the nonprofit sector by providing mental health services for children. She later earned her master's degree in Environmental Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus. During her graduate studies Sarah spent time participating in local beautification and research programs. She is eager to collaborate on efforts to protect and restore our shared watershed.
